The Siya crew can reveal that Fadlu Davids has joined Bloemfontein Celtic as assistant coach on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
This comes after news that new Maritzburg United coach Steve Komphela has brought in a new assistant in Mandla Ncikazi, whom he worked with at Free State Stars. Davids worked with Celtic coach Ernst Middendorp at the Team of Choice and will relish the opportunity of reuniting with the German mentor. He told the crew he is looking forward to a new chapter in his coaching career.
“Yes, I have joined Celtic. I have progressed a lot in the past two years working with Ernst as he always shared his knowledge with me. He helped me a lot. He has got vast experience in the game. It’s a great opportunity and I’m really looking forward to it.
"Turning down a team like Celtic is hard because of their passionate supporters, who are always the 12th man in every game,” said Davids.
