SuperSport United midfielder, David Mathebula, is back and available for selection after being reassured that his recent illness was not a serious one.
The 30-year-old has been out of action for a couple of weeks now after coming down with an illness ahead of the clash with Moroka Swallows, going on to miss the next three games.
However, despite worries that the player had caught malaria, tests have since proven that that is not the case.
Cavin Johnson, the club’s head coach, told the Siya crew, “David got sick suddenly and we were worried that he’d picked up malaria somewhere, however we sent him for all the tests and thankfully it wasn’t that.
“He’s fit to play again now, we just need to decide whether he’s match ready or not.”
It remains to be seen whether ‘DVD’ will make the matchday squad for tomorrow’s game against struggling Free State Stars, though Johnson will be keen to get Mathebula back to his best before the end of the season.
