Ex-Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns defender, David Kannemeyer, has opened up to the Siya crew that he believes Amakhosi will win the title.
Speaking ahead of the wekend’s much-anticipated clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs, the former speedy left back says that the Glamour Boys have been together for a longer while, which is an added advantage for them.
On the other hand, he also believes that, given Sundowns six unbeaten streak, this will give them confidence going forward.
“It’s a great battle to see you know. It’s something interesting for our football. In my view, the team that wins the next three games will have a good chance to win the league title. I know Stuart Baxter plays attacking football and this game will be an interesting one for the supporters. I also know Pitso Mosimane plays interesting football but it’s difficult to call it a decider because the team that goes out there on a mission to win it, will win it.
“There will be a good vibe in the stadium most probably because Chiefs will want to win and make it two against Sundowns. But having said that, it will depend on how Pitso’s boys respond on the day and who wants it the most. The players must know it’s up to them now, they just have to work hard, the league is there to be taken by anyone hungry enough. In the end, for me Chiefs will win the league. They deserve it, they’ve done well and continuity has been their strongest point,” added Cape Town-born man.
Kannemeyer also urged the supporters to come out and carry their teams over to the finishing line. To read more on what he said, get your latest copy of the Soccer Laduma (Issue no: 865) and read the Revolving Column on page 10.
