Kannemeyer Advises Chiefs On Transfers, Coach Search

David Kannemeyer Advises Kaizer Chiefs On Transfers, Head Coach Search

By Ryan Gordon - Jul 02, 2018 09:15 AM
A former Kaizer Chiefs defender believes bringing in "the right man" to coach the club is just as important as finding players that will work well within the new tactician's system.

Amakhosi are undergoing somewhat of a rebuilding process, with the Soweto giants on the lookout for a new head coach following Steve Komphela's resignation towards the end of last season after three trophyless years at Naturena.

The Glamour Boys are also strengthening their playing options, spearheaded by marquee signing Khama Billiat from Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns, while goalkeeper Virgil Vries and Madagascan, Andriamirado Andrianarimanana also joining the club.

Chiefs are expected to make several more signings before the start of the new PSL campaign in August, but former Amakhosi defender David Kannemeyer believes the club needs to find a coach.

"I think it's to find the right man, but also to find the right balance with the players that you sign," Kannemeyer told the Siya crew.

"Example: Sundowns, when everyone was talking, raving, about their signings, but they're signing the right players because they want success.

"But obviously, to sign the right players, they need to fit within your system that you want to play as the coach, so that's very, very important and vital."

Do you think Kaizer Chiefs management should be signing players, or leave transfers to the head coach?

While we are all entitled to our point of view ( we live in a democracy , don't we?), I think David Kannemeyer's comment makes a lot of sense. How do you, as a vehicle owner who is clueless about motor vehicles and their parts, buy these parts when you have a breakdown, without first consulting with a qualified and expert motor mechanic?

Kannemeyer must also go and advice SSU and leave Chiefs alone.

Dakiwe Kannemyere Hachi, Zakri, Nomandela, Ngele, Brockie,Nthethe, Mohomi, Sekotlong why are not playing if they are the right players who can help Sunflops to succeed. Where is Nomandela and Ngele if they were the right players? Where is Zakri and Hachi? Think before you convince Chiefs to flop like Flops. All we need is a coach and few players a Playmaker, one striker, and one strong central midfielder should Katsande get injured. 3 or 4 players will do for us not this nyoso. Mahlasela, Ntshangase, Billiat, Dux, Castro are all the best we have signed so far.

Is this another interview with David or is LieDuma recycling the same interview. Life is difficult without Kaizer Chiefs...Kannemeyer also played for Super Sport but LieDuma forgot to ask for his advise for Super Sport...
