Kannemeyer Advises Chiefs On Transfers, Coach Search
A former Kaizer Chiefs defender believes bringing in "the right man" to coach the club is just as important as finding players that will work well within the new tactician's system.
Amakhosi are undergoing somewhat of a rebuilding process, with the Soweto giants on the lookout for a new head coach following Steve Komphela's resignation towards the end of last season after three trophyless years at Naturena.
The Glamour Boys are also strengthening their playing options, spearheaded by marquee signing Khama Billiat from Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns, while goalkeeper Virgil Vries and Madagascan, Andriamirado Andrianarimanana also joining the club.
Chiefs are expected to make several more signings before the start of the new PSL campaign in August, but former Amakhosi defender David Kannemeyer believes the club needs to find a coach.
"I think it's to find the right man, but also to find the right balance with the players that you sign," Kannemeyer told the Siya crew.
"Example: Sundowns, when everyone was talking, raving, about their signings, but they're signing the right players because they want success.
"But obviously, to sign the right players, they need to fit within your system that you want to play as the coach, so that's very, very important and vital."
Do you think Kaizer Chiefs management should be signing players, or leave transfers to the head coach?
