Dauda Urged To Quit Pirates

Former Ghana goalkeeper, Joe Carl, has urged Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Fatau Dauda, to leave the club if he wants to save his international career.

Dauda’s future at Pirates has come under scrutiny from the media after Bucs coach Roger de Sa was quoted as saying the Black Stars goalkeeper was the third choice at Pirates behind Senzo Meyiwa and Brighton Mhlongo.

As reported by the crew, this claim was rubbished by Pirates Technical Director Stanley Tshabalala who insisted that Dauda would assume the number one goalkeeper role soon.

“I think Fatau should know what to do. In my view he should leave the club,” Carl told Spy Ghana.

“It’s not proper for our number one keeper to warm the bench especially with the World Cup just six months away.

“He should seek for a new club because if he doesn’t it will be difficult to justify his inclusion in the team,” added Carl.

With Pirates taking on Platinum Stars in an Absa Premiership match on Monday, all eyes will no doubt be on Dauda to see if he will start the game or sit on the bench.

The clash will take place at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium at 15h30.
