Fatau Dauda’s potential move to Orlando Pirates could hit a snag with Ognjen Karisik claiming to have no knowledge of the proposed deal.
The Ghanaian goalkeeper has been linked with a move to Bucs during the current off-season, with the Siya crew revealing yesterday on the Soccer-Laduma web and mobi-site that the Ashanti Gold keeper has completed his medical with the club.
Ashanti Gold chairman, Kudjoe Fianoo, revealed that the medical went well and that they are waiting on a report from Pirates.
However, according to Serbian agent Karisik, the Ghana national team goalkeeper is contracted to his agency. Karisik informed the Siya crew that he is puzzled with the news that the player is set to change clubs without his knowledge.
“I don’t know about this. Fatau Dauda still has a contract with my agency. If he goes behind me or my agency we will go to FIFA. I haven’t asked anything because my player knows who his agent is. If somebody wants him they must contact me first.
“Fatau Dauda didn’t tell me that he wants to go to South Africa. I’ve got a club for him from France. Another club is in Belgium and there’s one in the MLS in America as well.
“He knows about that. I told him 10 days ago and now I read in the newspapers about this. I will call him and check what is happening,” said Karisik.
With Bucs having made their intentions clear, and with the Ashanti Gold chairman indicating that they are in contact with the PSL side, it remains to be seen if the 28-year-old does join the Soweto giants.
