News coming out of the Orlando Pirates camp is that Ghanaian goalkeeper, Fatau Dauda, is in the team's 18-man squad for tomorrow night’s Absa Premiership clash against AmaZulu.
Dauda replaces second choice goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo in the team. Mhlongo is, however, in KwaZulu Natal for the Vodacom road show with Patrick Phungwayo, Mbongeni Gumede and Nhlakanipho Ntuli.
Pirates coach Roger de Sa confirmed to the Siya crew that Dauda is in his 18-man squad.
“Fatau is with the team. Obviously, we looked at various aspects of our game especially in the goalkeeping department, so we decided to select him for this game,” De Sa told the crew.
De Sa, however, could not say if the Ghanaian number one goalkeeper will start in the Usuthu clash.
“That decision will only be made after we’ve seen what he and Senzo Meyiwa are doing at training prior to this game. We’ll also look at our goal conceding ratio to see if we need to make a change, so at this stage I can’t say as to who will start the game for us tomorrow night between Fatau and Senzo,” explained De Sa.
Pirates have conceded nine goals in their last five Absa Premiership matches and based on De Sa's comment, one cannot rule out the possibility of Dauda starting the game tomorrow night.
