News reaching the Siya crew is that Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has expressed disappointment at his coach Roger de Sa following coach’s comments after the team’s 2-1 win over Ajax Cape Town on Monday night.
According to Footy Ghana, Dauda expressed his disappointment in an interview with Angel FM after De Sa was quoted in the media, as saying that if Dauda was good enough to be on the bench he will be, and if he was sharp enough to play then he would play.
“Some time back, he even said I was his third choice. There’s so much pressure on him and I even feel for him. He only wanted to say something but only God knows the truth. Big clubs sometimes rotate their keepers if they don’t get the needed results and he could do same with the three keepers we have looking at our situation and the pressure,” Dauda told Angel FM.
“I want to believe that he was forced to make those comments due to the pressure on him from the fans. If those comments are coming from a coach who’s supposed to be the leader, then I will be very disappointed,” concluded Dauda.
Dauda, who joined Pirates at the beginning of the season, has yet to make his debut for the Buccaneers and his position in the Ghana team for the 2014 World Cup has come under threat because of his lack of game time.
Senzo Meyiwa is the preferred number one goalkeeper at Pirates, but he has come under a lot of criticism from some section of the Pirates supporters.
