KV Kortrijk’s South African goalkeeper, Darren Keet, will undergo a minor shoulder operation later this month.
The 24-year-old, who has been a regular at his Belgian club all season, will have the operation on April 14 before spending around eight weeks recovering in order to have a full pre-season with his team.
Keet played in Kortrijk’s 4-0 win over Cercle Brugge this weekend, and will play two more games, against Sporting Charleroi and Mechelen, before going under the knife later this month.
The shot-stopper has been regularly linked with a move away from his current club due to his impressive form at Kortrijk, however he signed a new long-term contract with them back in October.
Once undergoing his operation, Keet will miss the rest of Kortijk’s current play-off games, but will be fully fit by the time their pre-season campaign begins ahead of the 2014/15 Belgian Pro League season.
