Following the departure of Thabo Nthethe to Mamelodi Sundowns, Bloemfontein Celtic have announced Clayton Daniels as the new man to take on the role.
The Siya crew reported earlier that the 29-year Nthethe signed for Sundowns, who finally got their man after a lengthy chase. With Celtic's next game this coming Saturday, against archrivals Free State Stars, Ernst Middendorp had to quickly find someone to lead the Phunya Sele Sele for the time being.
Middendorp told the club's official website, "I have been so impressed with the attitude of Clayton Daniels, he is a natural leader, an outstanding player and one all the team looks up to. He always gives his best in each match and training session and he is one of the key motivators in the dressing room."
Daniels himself will not be staying long at the club, as he has signed a pre-contract with SuperSport United and will not be part of the Celtic set-up from next season.
Meanwhile, Joel Mogorosi and Musa Nyatama have been announced as vice-captains to assist in the leadership responsibilities within the team.
