Cardoso: We Could Have Beaten Pirates
Free State Stars defender, Daniel Cardoso, felt his side could have walked away with the win against Orlando Pirates.
Ea Lla Koto came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw with Pirates at the Charles Mopeli Stadium on Wednesday evening and the Stars defender, who was named Man of the Match, applauded his teammates and the technical staff.
"I couldn't have done it without the team today, we put in a good performance, coming from 1-0 down wasn't that easy," he said after the game.
"I thought we could have taken more, we could have taken the full three points, but I got to applaud the boys and the technical staff, they sorted it out at halftime and we came back out here and fought harder."
Cardoso also commented on his individual battle with Pirates winger, Thabo Rakhale.
"In the first half I thought I gave him too much space," he added.
"Second half I came out at him and I was on him all the time, I didn't give him space to run at and I thought I won the second half battle."
The 26-year-old Cardoso has been linked with the 'Big Three' for a while, and it remains to be seen if that interest will resurface in the future.
