Dan Malesela was recently placed on ‘special leave’ by Chippa United and is now set to find the next destination in his professional coaching career.
The head coach confirmed to the Siya crew on April 26, that he was placed special leave by the club. Two days later, Chippa confirmed the news and it was subsequently revealed that Mbuyiselo Sambu is set to oversee the team’s bench in the interim.
As reported in issue number 1022 of Soccer Laduma, Malesela revealed to the crew that pondering on his situation at Chippa will not be beneficial for him as a head coach and at this point, he is currently shifting his focus on the next step in his career.
“I am trying to see what I need to do for the future. I think focusing on Chippa will probably waste my time. It won’t help me at all. I have a future in football, so I have to look ahead on what I have to do and not focus on what happened.
“Obviously, we will wait for any offer and I understand now is not the right time for any club to make changes and take anyone on board. But, for me, if I know where I am going then I start from a distance obviously… I will start monitoring the club and the playing personnel,” Malesela told Soccer Laduma.
“I still think I will get something in the PSL going forward,” he added.
