Newly appointed Chippa United coach Dan Malesela has opened up about his surprise return to the Port Elizabeth outfit.
After parting ways with TS Galaxy in December, Malesela surprisingly accepted an offer from Chippa to return to the team though he had vowed to never return to the Eastern Cape club the last time he left the club in 2018.
At the time, Malesela had been fired after just three matches after leading the team to two losses and a draw in his third stint under club chairman Siviwe ‘Chippa’ Mpengesi.
As he prepares for the official start of his fourth stint with the Chilli Boys against SuperSport United away on Wednesday, the coach has explained that he returned to the club after consultation with his family and his representative.
“Obviously, I had to consult, I had to speak with my manager and I also had to speak to my wife and my family to say, ‘Is it okay?’ me I’m always keen. I don’t worry about too many things that are in the past because history sometimes can bring tears. History sometimes can bring tears‚ if you start dwelling too much on apartheid you will not make progress. Forget about apartheid and see what happens in the future,” said Malesela, speaking to the media.
