Marumo Gallants head coach Dan Malesela says the performance against Kaizer Chiefs was the worst of their season so far.
Keagan Dolly's second-half strike guided the Soweto giants to a 1-0 win over the Nedbank Cup champions at FNB Stadium on Tuesday night.
Malesela was critical of his players for not beating Chiefs, who he felt were very beatable team.
"A game of so many errors, we've never played like this before, this is our worst performance ever," Malesela told SuperSport after the game.
"With no disrespect but against what looks like a very beatable team you know and then we can't pass, we can't trap you know.
"Our choices are bad I don't think there is much that we did right, defending also very shaky.
"I'm trying to move away from this thing that I know when you qualify for a final, what happens? But I thought the players were stronger than that and we spoke.
"We emphasised this thing that we cannot just be carried away by just getting to the final, we have to prepare ourselves for the final and win matches. And now if this is the preparation that we're making then we'll be in a big trouble.
"Now the chances of a top eight are getting slimmer by the day, we'll try and coach and let's see where can go."
