Malajila Back In The Fold For Winning Sundowns

Cuthbert Malajila Back In The Fold For Winning Mamelodi Sundowns

By Soccer Laduma - Oct 01, 2017 07:11 PM

Cuthbert Malajila has returned to action for Mamelodi Sundowns after the Brazilians were able to register the Zimbabwean as a local player.

The Siya crew revealed on Friday that Sundowns completed the registration of Malajila for the 2017/18 campaign, however, at the time were awaiting an official confirmation from the Premier Soccer League.

The league released the official squad list for the 2017/18, however, the 31-year-old’s name was not included on the team sheet on Friday, September, 29.

However, the player has since returned to action for the Masandawana side today, indicating that all has been finalized with the league. Malajila came on as a substitute for Sibusiso Vilakazi during the Brazilians’ league encounter today, October, 01.

Sundowns claimed a 1-0 win over Platinum Stars in the Absa Premiership today, gaining the needed winning momentum as Head Coach Pitso Mosimane’s side look to go all out and challenge on the domestic front after being eliminated from the CAF Champions League competition.

I have said it and I'm saying it again, Sundowns fans must not take anything from this laduma news paper, only thing about this laduma is negative stories about Sundowns, no respect to Sundowns, hating interviews and all sort of rubbish about Sundowns you can only get them in this paper, nothing positive, which are the opposite of what Sundowns are,in our football, they are holding the record of being the most successful team in South Africa, we all know that, but only laduma will never publish that

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane and captain Hlompho Kekana were among the winners at the Gauteng Sports Awards at SilverStar Casino in Krugersdorp on Sunday night. Mosimane was named Coach of the Year, beating Golden Lions rugby tactician Johannes Nthooro Mongalo and Kelsey White of Central Gauteng Water Polo. Kekana won the Sports Personality of the Year accolade ahead of Banyana Banyana star Janine van Wyk - who was denied the Sportwoman of the Year gong by Tanita Ramburuth Hurt - and athletes Luvo Manyonga and Sheldon Thomas. Kekan missed out on the Sportman of the Year prize to rower Lawrence Brittian. Sundowns were also crowned Sports Team of the Year, amid competition from the Lions and Wits Tang Soo Do (martial arts), following their CAF Champions League heroics last season.
