Former Santos head coach, Duncan Crowie, is set to join Ajax Cape Town and lead their under-17 side.
Crowie is set to replace the previous under-17 coach, David Nyathi, who has been promoted to the club’s under-19 squad after impressing during his time spent with the younger generation.
Having spent time at helm of The People’s Team last season, following the firing of Boebie Solomons, it was thought that Crowie still had aspirations at the club, however with the appointment of Ian Palmer it seems that he has now given up on that idea.
Crowie’s move brings to an end a long stay with Ajax’s neighbours Santos, having spent many years at the club as both a player and a coach.
It remains to be seen what the coach’s plans for the future are, but it seems that, for now, he is keen to help nurture Ajax’s talent of the next few years.
