As reported in edition 873 of Soccer Laduma, it appears that Steve Komphela's much-publicised move to Chippa United could temporarily be put on ice.
The Siya crew has already confirmed that Komphela has signed a contract and agreed terms with the NFD champions, but it now appears that the coach is stalling on a move to the Chilli Boys.
Soccer Laduma announced weeks ago that the 46-year-old signed a two-and-half year deal with Chippa, however, it now seems some other factors have arisen which could complicate matters.
Komphela enjoyed an excellent few months in charge of Maritzburg which saw the club rise to 12th place, as well as reach the Nedbank Cup semi-finals. His reputation has been greatly enhanced following the quick turn-around in fortunes he helped engineer in Pietermaritzburg.
Nonetheless, the crew understands that a potentially lucrative move to Chippa United is now on hold at least for the time being.
