Pitso Mosimane stated in May that he has to protect the ‘quiet’ in his dressing room, but has Andile Jali made it louder?
Jali has made shocking headlines in local media in the past months, currently facing two court cases.
The player made his return to South Africa this year, after parting ways with KV Oostende. At the time, Jali’s name was punted all over local media, with Head Coach Mosimane also weighing in on whether or not Sundowns should sign the player.
Mosimane told the media in May that the club would have to take extra caution in signing a player like Jali, while also considering the dressing room.
“I love Andile, I had him in Bafana and Andile has a very good game attitude, he is a tiger but it is more than that to sign a player, so I need to protect my dressing room also hey, because I have got the younger ones and my team is a little bit of a quiet team, Percy? Shuga? Kekana? Vila? Quiet…
“You know what I’m trying to say? So I need my dressing room quiet, because we have made mistakes before and made it louder and created problems. But, for the game? I think he can play for us, I like him,” Mosimane told the media in May.
Sundowns nonetheless went on to clinch Jali’ signature in July this year, however, the player has since made headlines for the all the wrong reasons.
Although Mosimane has praised Jali as a footballer on the pitch, do you think the player has since made the Sundowns changing room louder? Let us know in the comments section below.
