COSAFA President: I Resolved A Dispute
COSAFA President Dr Philip Chiyangwa declares he has no beef with anyone
Yesterday’s announcement that Ace Ncobo had withdrawn from the South African Football Association (SAFA) presidential race was a result of an agreement facilitated by COSAFA President Dr Philip Chiyangwa.
The COSAFA President has since told Soccer Laduma following his press briefing yesterday, that he believes the dispute between Ncobo and current SAFA president Dr Danny Jordaan has been resolved and that it would be up to the two gentlemen to maintain the peace moving forward.
Chiyangwa further went to declare that following his intervention on the matter he had no beef with both Ncobo and Jordaan following the agreement both men signed.
“I have no beef with any South African,” declared Chiyangwa.
"My philosophy has been about peace. You can’t fight with your own people if you want to advance football, that’s why when I see a president fighting with his own members I immediately tell them to stop as fighting doesn’t grow football.
“That’s why it was important for me to intervene and resolve the matter between Ace and Jordaan,” noted the COSAFA President.
SAFA’s Elective Congress is expected to proceed as planned on 24 March 2018 where Jordaan is expected to be voted as SAFA president for another term.
