Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has confirmed to the Siya crew this morning that the club has signed two players who were previously on the books of Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns respectively.
With a few slight changes to the squad for the upcoming 2019/20 season, winger Sameehg Doutie and right back Siyanda Zwane have now officially joined the Clever Boys as Hunt aims for another Absa Premiership title.
“We’ve had several players leave and a few come in,” Hunt told the Siya crew. “Obviously we have a few that we signed on pre-contracts from Ajax like the goalkeeper Brandon Petersen and Prince Nxumalo, but we also signed (Siyanda) Zwane from Golden Arrows. He didn’t go back to Sundowns because he was out of contract, so he has come to us. We also have Phathutshedzo Nange and Ivan Mahangwahaya from Black Leopards – so the squad is not that big.”
Zwane, 34, was used sparingly at Arrows last season during his loan spell from Sundowns and will be hoping for more game-time at Wits. Doutie, on the other hand, has recently left Swedish side Varnamo and has plenty experience in the PSL having played for Ajax, Pirates, SuperSport and is returning for a second stint with Wits.
