As previously reported by the Siya crew, the defender was being monitored by Chiefs among other clubs, according to sources.

Baroka FC is another club believed to have been monitoring Mbhele thanks to his progress in coach Owen da Gama’s team.
Due to fears of losing the player in January, as he would have been eligible to sign a pre-contract with a club of his choice, the Lions of the North have tied the defender down on a two-year contract.
Contacted for comment, the player’s representative Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi of Rush Hour Sports Management confirmed that the 32-year-old has extended his stay with the Lions of the North.
“Yes it is true that other teams were interested but we have signed a new contract with Highlands Park,” confirmed Mulovhedzi.
