The Siya crew can reveal that Botswana-born coach, David Bright, is now part of the Santos technical team.
As reported by the crew on Monday, the former Gaborone United mentor has been in Cape Town and negotiating with the National First Division side’s management about re-joining the team that he has worked with before. The 57-year-old Bright, who is considered Botswana’s most successful coach, recently left Gaborone United in his home country after apparently falling out with management.
It was initially thought that he would immediately be appointed head coach at the People’s Team, but it has now been revealed that he will be assisting the man in charge, David Notoane, as they push for a play-off spot.
Santos are currently in seventh place on the standings, with five games to go, and only six points separate them and third-placed Baroka FC.
According to a reliable source, Bright will be offered a contract as a full-time Santos head coach next season, with the club hoping that by then they would be playing in the PSL.
