Larsen: Most Of The Coaches Said Sundowns Will Win It
Clinton Larsen Talks About Mamelodi Sundowns' Title Run
Golden Arrows head coach, Clinton Larsen says that at the beginning of the season, most of the coaches said that Mamelodi Sundowns will go on and win the league.
The KwaZulu-Natal-based side suffered a 1-0 loss to Sundowns this week, with the Brazilians edging closer to be crowned Absa Premiership champions.
Speaking to the media, Larsen said that the title is in Sundowns’ hands and it comes as no surprise even though they have three fixtures left to play.
“Listen, the title is in their hands. They’re sitting in pole position even before this game. So it’s for them to lose it you know and I think the quality they have been showing, the results they have been getting of late, I think it’s just a formality that they will win the championship. I think every coach was asked in the beginning of the season who they thought would win it and when you look at the Sundowns squad, 90% of the coaches in the league said Sundowns, so I don’t think it’s a surprise with three games to go,” he told the media.
Sundowns are currently in pole position on the league standings, with three games left to be played.
