Cape Town City will travel to KwaZulu-Natal today after their home Absa Premiership fixture was moved away from Cape Town due to water restrictions.
As reported last week, Cape Town Stadium is currently booked for a rugby tournament, while the water restrictions in the Mother City has made it hard for the municipality to maintain the grass and ground at the Athlone Stadium in order for it to be in a playable condition.
As a result, all City’s and Ajax’s home fixtures have been moved to stadiums outside of Cape Town, with City set to face Maritzburg United at the Princess Magogo Stadium tomorrow instead of either one of the Cape Town venues.
A win for City on Tuesday, December 05, will see the Citizens move to the top of the Absa Premiership league standings, with a game in hand.
Head Coach Benni McCarthy’s side will thereafter return to action on December 09 in another enticing league fixture against SuperSport United.
