News reaching the Siya crew is that the Ghanaian defender, John Paintsil, is set to meet with Polokwane City management this afternoon with a view of landing a PSL contract with the side.
The crew previously reported that the 32-year-old former West Ham United and Maccabi Tel Aviv player was training with the Cape Town-based Santos, however he has now been linked with a move to City.

City's Media and Liaison officer, Pat Baloyi, confirmed that Paintsil, who has 80 caps for Ghana, will meet with the team’s management this afternoon.
“We will meet the veteran defender this afternoon and we are looking at signing him to beef up our squad. He will definitely bring valuable experience to the team,” said Baloyi.
Although the team lost to Kaizer Chiefs in their Telkom Knockout encounter on Saturday, Baloyi said their focus is now on the league and a player of Paintsil’s quality will add value to the Polokwane-based outfit.

“We need his services but it all depends on the terms of the contract. We hope to sign him as his experience in the game is unparalleled,” concluded Baloyi.
