Former AmaZulu striker Sifiso Vilakazi has been linked with a move to Polokwane City, although a deal is unlikely to happen at this stage due to the player’s financial demands.
Vilakazi has struggled in his search for a club, following his departure from Usuthu at the end of the 2012/13 season. The 34-year-old has since had unsuccessful trials at the University of Pretoria and Bloemfontein Celtic.
Although Vilakazi believes that he still does have a lot to offer in professional football, his personal demands are one of the factors delaying his progress, according to a source.
A source close to the striker revealed to the Siya crew that City may be scared off by the player’s demands.
“Sifiso Vilakazi is wanted by Polokwane City. But there is a problem because they cannot meet his demands,” said the source.
Sivutsa Stars and United FC in the NFD have also shown an interest in the player.
