Platinum Stars defender, Elias Ngwepe, whose contract with Dikwena is coming to a close end on June 30, could be set to join Polokwane City.
The crew is informed that the club is after the services of the experienced player as his contract comes to expiration at the Phokeng-based club.
As the crew reported earlier today (Thursday) that Rise and Shine have tabled an offer for his former teammate, Benson Mhlongo, the players are likely to link up again at the Polokwane-based outfit.
Last season’s PSL rookies finished at position 15 and their intentions are vivid that they intend to avoid the play-offs by strengthening their team ahead of the new campaign.
Speaking to the crew, PRO, Patrick Baloyi, revealed that both Mhlongo and Ngwepe, are seasoned campaigners and the club will definitely benefit from their input.
“Well, I can tell you I’m not aware of that because I’m not at the club as we speak, but if that is true, then the club will definitely benefit from these guys. All I can say is that Elias attended our game against SuperSport United, that was our last game of the season. I wouldn’t be surprised to know he’s linked to our club. He will bring so much experience in the team as we campaigned with a less experienced squad last season. He’s also one of the most disciplined players in the league,” said Baloyi.
The 36-year-old former Mamelodi Sundowns and Bloemfontein Celtic man started three games for the Rustenburg-based club, and that could make it highly possible for him to join City.
