Chippa United’s media officer, Lukanyo Mzinzi, has explained to Soccer-Laduma that the club is displeased with Masibusane Zongo’ conduct.
Zongo, who joined the Chilli Boys during the January transfer window, has disappeared from the side. The player’s disappearance comes at a crucial time for the club, as Mark Harrison attempts to salvage their PSL status through the promotional playoffs.
“He disappeared after our game against Orlando Pirates. He never returned from Johannesburg. We’ve heard different stories about his whereabouts. He wasn’t chased away from the club.
“He just disappeared. I don’t know what the problem is because that boy has been impressive for us before this. He was very committed at training,” said Mzinzi.
Zongo made four league starts during his time with Chippa, having played for Blackburn Rovers in the NFD before joining the Cape side.
Having played for the likes of Wits, SuperSport United and Vasco da Gama during his career, the player’s immense talent has frequently been overshadowed by his off the field antics.
