Chippa United have provided an update on their injured star after their match against Kaizer Chiefs at the weekend.
The Chilli Boys, who finished the season on a high with a 1-0 win over Chiefs on Saturday, suffered a major blow after an injury to defender Tebogo Makobela during the match.
Makobela was replaced with Frederic Nsabiyumva early in the match after the former Jomo Cosmos player, who is celebrating his 27th birthday today (Tuesday), suffered a leg break from a tackle by Chiefs’ Teenage Hadebe.
With the Chilli Boys set to be going to the end of the season break like the rest of the teams in the league, the Eastern Cape club has provided an update on Makobela’s injury.
“Tebogo Makobela suffered displaced fractures in two places on both the tibia and fibula during the @KaizerChiefs #AbsaPrem clash on Saturday, after a successful surgery on Sunday morning he is being discharged today. We wish our #chilliboy a speedy recovery,” the club confirmed on their official Twitter account.
