Chippa United have to play for the pride of the country when they face VFL Wolfsburg in their upcoming game this weekend.
The Chilli Boys have a tough game against the German Bundesliga side at Wolfson Stadium in the Eastern Cape on Sunday.
Wolfsburg walloped Ajax Cape Town 4-1 in their game at the Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday night. Chippa CEO, Peter Koutroulis, confirmed to the Siya crew that the Port Elizabeth-based side is preparing for the game.
“We play against VFL Wolfsburg this weekend. It’s a big game and very important for our players and our supporters here in the Eastern Cape. The game will help our team to prepare for the game against Tuks,” said Koutroulis.
Chippa confirmed that their three players from Nigeria have arrived and resumed training with the rest of their teammates.
James Okwuosa, Ugonna Uzochukwu and George Akpabio were reportedly delayed by flights and didn’t arrive on time with everyone else at the start of the team’s mid-season training.
