Chippa United Has Promoted Three Players
Chippa United has confirmed that young Xolani Maholo, who was recently promoted to the first team, has been joined by two other youngsters on the way up to the PSL side.
Maholo made his official PSL debut in the game for Chippa against AmaZulu last weekend. The 21-year-old midfielder was handed a start in Teboho Moloi’s team and later substituted in the second half for Thabo Rakhale, during Chippa’s 2-0 win over Usuthu on Sunday.
The Chilli Boys have confirmed that Maholo has been joined by Gregory Damons and Ayanda Manengele in earning promotion from the club’s MultiChoice Diski Challenge team to the PSL side.
“Chippa United also unveiled youngsters promoted from the MDC Team to the first team; (Gregory “Cafu” Damons – defender – 21 years), (Ayanda Manengele – central midfielder – 20 years), (Xolani Maholo, 21-year-old midfielder who made his debut against AmaZulu last Sunday),” Chippa confirmed on the club’s official website.
“It is important as a football Club that we promote players from our development and I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to our Head of Development Mr Glen Minnie. He has done a wonderful job in the past couple of years. Xolani Maholo’s debut on Sunday was a reward to him and the staff of the Development team for the effort they have been giving.
“I am very proud of all these guys and they will get the opportunity to show what they can do,” Moloi told the club’s website.
Meanwhile, Chippa is preparing for the game against Bidvest Wits at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday.
