Siviwe ‘Chippa’ Mpengesi of Chippa United is demanding R24 000 from Bernard Morrison, which he says was paid to the player as his relocation allowance in anticipation of his proposed move from Orlando Pirates to the Port Elizabeth club.
With Chippa having earlier announced that they have signed Morrison from Pirates, it has since emerged that the player will no longer be joining the Eastern Cape outfit.
The Ghanaian has since left South Africa, with an indication that he is in search of a new club in Qatar, as reported by the Siya crew.
Mpengesi says he is disappointed with the statements made by Morrison that his said move to Chippa was ‘fake news’.
According to the chairman, through communicating on Chippa’s official Twitter account, he has been unable to reach to the Ghanaian to demand his money directly from him.
In confirming his departure from Pirates on his official Instagram account where he thanked the Pirates family, Morrison described his move to Chippa as ‘fake news’.
“Let me start by saying many thanks to the chairman and @orlandopirates as a whole for opening up their home to me,” Morrison said in part.
“Lastly, let me clear the air about my move to ‘chippa’. There hasn’t been any form of proper communication between my management and Chippa United so I don’t acknowledge their statements and allow me to say that’s fake news. NOT SIGNED WITH CHIPPA UTD,” said the player.
