Chippa Officially Announce New Coach!

Chippa United have officially announced Rulani Mokwena the club’s new head coach for the remainder of the 2019/20 season.

It was revealed earlier this morning by the Soweto giants that Mokwena would be on his way to join the Port Elizabeth outfit until the end of the season.

The Chilli Boys, who are in 11th place on the Absa Premiership log with six wins from 23 matches, have confirmed Mokwena’s appointment as a replacement for Norman Mapeza, who resigned from his position on Monday, following the team’s important win on Saturday at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium against AmaZulu.

“Following the resignation of Norman Mapeza and acceptance of same by the club, Chippa United FC would like to confirm the appointment of Rulani Mokwena as its new Head Coach. Rulani will see the Chilli Boys through the remainder of the current season,” Chippa confirmed in the club’s official statement.

“Having worked with both Mamelodi Sundowns and having steered Orlando Pirates during the current season, Chippa United FC is confident that he will prove to be an asset on all facets, including development,” the club’s statement reads.

“Chairman of the club, Mr. Siviwe Mpengesi welcomes the Head Coach and would like to express his appreciation to Orlando Pirates FC and pledges to give the necessary support to coach Rulani. The coach is expected to be on the bench when Chippa United FC face Bidvest Wits on Saturday 7 March 2020. He will be assisted by Michael Loftman,” confirmed Chippa.
