Chippa United have made another new signing, before the close of the current January transfer window, swapping Masonwabe Bovu and Gift Sithole for forward Stanton Lewis.
The move was confirmed by club owner, Chippa Mpengesi, who explained that the deal was finalised yesterday and that all three players are happy with the arrangement.
It was reported earlier in the day that Bovu was on his way to Kwa-Zulu Natal to be assessed by Golden Arrows and that Sithole had been told that he was surplus to requirements at the club.
However, Mpengesi has revealed that this was not the case, explaining that the duo had already agreed terms with Abafana Bes’thende and that Lewis would be making a return to Cape Town.
Lewis’ return will mean that he gets the chance to reunite with his former Ajax Cape Town coach, Wilfred Mugeyi, who recently replaced Farouk Abrahams at the helm of the club.
Meanwhile, Mpengesi also explained that midfielder, Cole Alexander, had been loaned out to NFD outfit, Vasco da Gama.
