Chippa United are making all the efforts in their planning to stop Mamelodi Sundowns in their upcoming match.
The Chilli Boys will visit Sundowns in a league match at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday. As part of the preparations for the match, Chippa sent one of their technical team members all the way from the Eastern Cape to Cape Town to watch Downs in their match on the weekend.
Chippa’s technical performance analyst, Sinesipho Mali, was spotted among those in attendance at the match for Cape Town City and Sundowns on Sunday afternoon.
Since appointing Vladislav Heric as their head coach, Chippa are making attempts to improve the team’s results and to move up to a safer place on the PSL log.
So far under the Serbian coach, the Port Elizabeth outfit won their match against Free State Stars. However, the coach and his team know that it will not be an easy match against Sundowns in front of their supporters in Tshwane on Wednesday.
Should Chippa win against Sundowns, and Pirates win their match against Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday, Bucs will overtake Downs on the log, although the Chloorkop outfit will still have a game in hand. A draw will also not be good enough for Downs, if Pirates go on to win their game.
In their first round league match played at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in November, Chippa and Downs drew 0-0.
The Brazilians and the Buccaneers are on 43 and 42 points respectively on the current log standings, with Downs having a game in hand.
