Newly promoted PSL side, Chippa United, have joined the race for the services of Edgar Manaka from Black Leopards.
The midfielder has been linked with a move to the PSL following his impressive performances for Leopards in the NFD during the 2013/14 season.
Manaka and his Lidoda Duvha teammates have helped Leopards to qualify for the PSL’s promotion/relegation playoffs, following their 2-0 win over Jomo Cosmos on Sunday.
“There is talk that Steve Komphela might be heading to Chippa United for next season. Edgar is one of the players they have identified for a move to Chippa in their plans for next season,” said the source.
According to the source, the Chilli Boys are the fourth club to show interest in the 25-year-old player. Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Polokwane City are all said to be keen on the Kempton Park-born player.
As was revealed by the Siya crew, Leopards’ chairman, David Thidiela, is said to be willing to release Manaka, as well as Karabo Tshepe on condition that they help his side in the playoffs.
