Chippa United have bolstered their striking department after completing a deal with Phumelele Bhengu.
It was reported last week on the Soccer-Laduma web and mobi-site that the Cape-based side was set to invite the former Moroka Swallows player for an assessment at the club.
The Siya crew has since received confirmation that the former South African Under-23 international player has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Chilli Boys.
Bhengu’s representative, from Complete Footballers, confirmed to the Siya crew that Bhengu will turn out for Chippa in the second round of the season.
“He has signed. He signed a two-and-a-half-year contract,” said the player’s representative.
Bhengu confirmed that he is already in Cape Town to prepare for the new adventure in his professional career. He last played for Mpumalanga Black Aces in the NFD.
