Chippa United have confirmed that Phumelele Bhengu is still in the team’s plans for the remainder of the season.
Bhengu will be working hard at training with the rest of his teammates, hoping to be in Wilfred Mugeyi’s starting eleven when the season resumes later in February.
Chippa’s Lukanyo Mzinzi confirmed that there is no change in Bhengu’s situation with the Cape side.
“Bhengu is part of the team. He is with the team. The new coach has looked at him and is happy. He isn’t going anywhere,” said Mzinzi.
The former Under-23 international joined the Chilli Boys earlier this month, however recent reports suggested that he had been deemed surplus to requirements at the club.
The former Moroka Swallows and Mpumalanga Black Aces player is part of the team that will travel to Port Elizabeth for a series of friendly games arranged by the club in the Eastern Cape.
