Former Moroka Swallows player Lizo Mjempu is training with Chippa United under the watchful eye of coach Mark Harrison, as looks to secure a deal this season, with the 2013/14 campaign well underway.
It was revealed in issue 839 of Soccer-Laduma that the left-back is no longer training with SuperSport United, after failing to impress the club’s technical team.

Mjempu’s search for a club recently took him to Mpumalanga Black Aces, although he didn’t have any luck with the PSL newcomers either.
Chippa’s Chief Operations Officer, Peter Koutroulis, confirmed to the Siya crew that the technical team is assessing the player.
“He is training with us. He arrived yesterday. He is just training at the moment and there is no decision on him yet,” said Koutroulis.
Mjempu made a name for himself in the PSL in the Mother City, while playing for Ajax Cape Town. The player’s performances for the Cape side earned him a big move to Orlando Pirates in the 2011/12 season.
