Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Abia Nale seems destined for a move away from the Amakhosi this January transfer window. Soccer-Laduma reported the interest shown in the former Golden Arrows player by the various PSL sides in issue 803.
The latest information reaching the Siya crew is that the Sebokeng-born player has also attracted interest from Chippa United. A highly-placed source within the Chilli Boys camp confirmed that the club’s chairman, Siviwe Mpengesi, has been in Johannesburg negotiating a potential deal with Chiefs for Nale’s signature.
Mpengesi was meant to be back in Cape Town on Tuesday night for the Bafana Bafana international friendly against Norway, however due to the ongoing negotiations in Johannesburg, the ambitious chairman missed the game at the Cape Town Stadium.
“There are players we are looking at. But with some of the deals we are still in talks. There is a player we want at Kaizer Chiefs. The club has had a conversation with Kaizer Chiefs chairman, Kaizer Motaung, about the player.
“The chairman (Mpengesi) needs to finalise with the player himself because he has already spoken to Bobby (Motaung) and the chairman of Kaizer Chiefs and they seem to agree. Everything depends on the player to make a decision. The player is Abia Nale,” said the source.
Ajax Cape Town, AmaZulu and Platinum Stars have all expressed an interest in the 26-year-old player. Nale has had a frustrating spell at Chiefs since joining the club from Arrows, due to a lack of game time under various coaches.
