As reported by the crew, Chiefs firstly decided against sending the youngster on loan this transfer period after coach Stuart Baxter said he would like to keep the youngster in the team.
At that stage, FC Cape Town were keen to take Matombo on loan, but were apparently told that Chiefs won’t release him.
But now Matombo’s agent, Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi, tells the Siya crew that the youngster could be allowed to join Baroka this week.
“We’ve been talking to Chiefs for sometime over a possible move to Baroka and they have indicated that they’re willing to release him. We’re waiting for Chiefs now to give us the green light to conclude the deal,” Mulovhedzi told the crew.
Matombo, who is a product of the Orlando Pirates development academy, was signed at the beginning of the season by Chiefs after undergoing a short trial with them.
