Transfer news coming from Kaizer Chiefs is that Bobby Motaung and the club's management are in negotiations with Mamelodi Sundowns to allow Katlego Mphela to join the club now in January, rather than wait until the opening of the next transfer window.
Mphela has signed a three year deal with the Glamour Boys and will no doubt not want to spend the next six months training on his own at Chloorkop. He will eventually join another new signing, George Maluleka, who has penned a three year deal after leaving SuperSport United.
Speaking to Chiefs' official website, Motaung, confirmed the news that the club were actively trying to get Mphela released earlier from Downs. He said, "Mphela is scheduled to start his journey as a Glamour Boy from July 2014. The Bafana Bafana International has his contract running out at Mamelodi Sundowns in June 2014. We are engaging with Sundowns to bring the player to Naturena during the window period.”
The club have also confirmed they have extended the deals of Eric Mathoho, Willard Katsande and Tsepo Masilela. Both Mathoho and Katsande have extended their deals to 2017 while Masilela has extended his contract until 2016, although there is an option for a further year thereafter. The club earlier this season extended Stuart Baxter's deal for a futher two years until 2016 as well.
