Kaizer Chiefs host Maritzburg United at FNB Stadium this weekend, as both sides look for their second win of this season’s Absa Premiership campaign.
Chiefs and Maritzburg find themselves in ninth and tenth place, respectively, on the log, having each one won, drawn one and lost a game so far in the league.
Surprisingly the Team of Choice and the Amakhosi have an extremely close league record against each other, with Chiefs winning just five of their fourteen encounters since 2005, Maritzburg claiming four victories and the two sharing the spoils on four occasions.
Chiefs’ last victory over the Pietermaritzburg-based outfit came in the 2010/11 season, when a brace from Siphiwe Tshabalala and a single goal from Stanton Lewis helped them to a 3-1 win.
The two teams will lock horns at 20h15 on Saturday evening.
Which side will leave FNB Stadium with three points?
