Kaizer Chiefs welcome Platinum Stars to FNB Stadium this weekend as they look to get back to winning ways following their 0-0 draw midweek, meanwhile, Dikwena want to stay unbeaten.
The meeting of the two sides will be the first time that last season’s PSL champions and the runners-up lock horns in the 2013/14 campaign, and both teams will no doubt want to get one over their rivals from last term.
Since 2003/04, Amakhosi and Dikwena have met 20 times, and while the hosts this weekend have more wins than their visitors, eight to three, the majority of the games, nine to be precise, have ended with the spoils being shared.
At home Chiefs have managed to take all three points on just three occasions, while their Phokeng-based opponents have won twice in this fixture away from home.
Last season Stars, under the tutelage of Cavin Johnson, they took four points from Stuart Baxter’s side, handing them their first defeat of the season in the first-half and then drawing 0-0 in the second.
New coach, Allan Freese, will be keen to see similar scorelines when the two sides meet this season, and at this point his team is one of only three teams in the PSL left unbeaten.
