Kaizer Chiefs will assess their midfielder, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, at some point today to gauge the extent of his knee injury.
The 31-year-old had to be substituted during last night’s 1-0 win over Golden Arrows after a collision with the Abafana Bes’thende defenders in the second half of the game.
While the player is yet to be assessed by the Amakhosi’s doctors, it seems likely that he will miss Sunday’s encounter with AmaZulu, though he should be ready for action when the PSL returns late next month.
During yesterday’s game it was Josta Dladla that came in for the injured ‘Yeye’, although, with George Lebese expected to return against Usuthu, Stuart Baxter does have other options ahead of the club’s last game of 2013.
Letsholonyane has been a regular in Baxter’s side as they have gone on to win their last five PSL games, and while his absence, if confirmed, will be a blow, the club’s head coach will be happy with the cover that he has available.
