Kaizer Chiefs take on ASEC Mimosas in a Caf Confederations Cup first leg play-off tie tomorrow. The match against the Ivorian giants comes at something of a tricky time - Chiefs are involved domestically in a tightly-contested battle with Mamelodi Sundowns for the PSL title.
However, despite the Confederations Cup competition widely being seen as a second tier continental tournament, the Glamour Boys are reportedly keen to take the clash against ASEC very seriously.
The Amakhosi were relegated to the tournament after failing to progress to the later rounds of the Caf Champions League, after an aggregate 3-2 loss to AS Vita.
Nonetheless, Chiefs are still determined to put their best foot forward against the Black and Yellows. Experienced central midfield workhorse, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, expressed the club's desire to do well in edition 867 of Soccer Laduma.
He said, "It's good that we playing in Africa. We will do our best (in the Confed Cup) as we did in the Champions League...We always play an attacking game, whether at home or away..."
Sunday's action gets underway from 15h00 at Dobsonville Stadium.
