The Urban Warriors put Amakhosi’s title celebrations on ice last season after a brace from Lebogang Manyama helped Ajax on their way to surviving relegation.
However, Chiefs have a different mind set this time around as they look to close the gap on league leaders, Moroka Swallows.
The two teams have met 28 times since 1999, with the Glamour Boys having a slight upper hand - having won 11 games to Ajax’s eight. Meanwhile, nine of those games have ended with the points shared.
In that same time period, Ajax have lost just three times at home, winning their last three games against Chiefs in the Mother City.
The last time Ajax lost at home to the Amakhosi was back in 2010 when the Urban Warriors were beaten 2-1.
Muhsin Ertugral’s side have picked up four points from their last two games, beating Free State Stars 1-0 and playing to a goalless draw against University of Pretoria, while Chiefs are unbeaten in their last four league games, although they will be without striker, Knowledge Musona, who is out with a shoulder injury.
The two sides will lock horns tomorrow night at the Cape Town Stadium. with the game starting is at 19h30.
