Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that they have received notice from the SA Institute for Drug-Free Sport regarding Josta Dladla failing a doping test and are now awaiting response from the player and his agent.
The Siya crew reported earlier that the Kaizer Chiefs midfielder had tested positive for banned stimulant Methylhexaneamine, and had reached out to Chiefs for comment.
The club officially confirmed the news via their official website with a statement which read, "Kaizer Chiefs has acknowledged receipt of a correspondence from the SA Institute for Drug-Free Sport regarding Josta Dladla testing positive for the banned stimulant Methylhexaneamine."
Corporate Communications Manager Vina Maphosa added, "The Club received the correspondence on Friday, 10th January 2014 and an urgent meeting was called with Josta Dladla, his agent and the Team representatives including the Team Doctor and Football Manager Bobby Motaung. At the meeting the player and his agent were duly informed about the matter.
"The Club is waiting for a response from the player and his agent. As soon as we received their response we will issue out a further statement."
