Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that their quartet of Bafana Bafana internationals are to return to training on Tuesday (January 21). Siphiwe Tshabalala, Bernard Parker, Tefu Mashamaite and Itumeleng Khune are all scheduled to make their return to the club's training ground after their exertions in the Chan tournament for the national side.
However, it is not yet know whether Khune will take part at training as he picked up a knock during international duty and his return to action is as yet unspecified. As it stands, the club will likely be assessing his fitness ahead of the Glamour Boys' top-of-the-table clash with Mamelodi Sundowns on Thursday (January 23).
Chiefs' coach, Stuart Baxter, confirmed that the four were expected to return to Naturena today and that they would be assessed ahead of the game against the Brazilians.
He told the club's official website, "We will have the four national team players back at training on Tuesday and we will assess their readiness for the Sundowns game.”
The Downs versus Chiefs league clash gets underway from 19h30 at Loftus Versveld.
