Kaizer Chiefs have announced their interest in Mamelodi Sundowns striker, Katlego Mphela.
The former Bafana Bafana star, who has spent most of the season on the bench at the Brazilians, has been linked with a move away from Chloorkop as his current deal enters it's final months.
Both Chiefs and SuperSport United have been credited with interest in the forward, and the Glamour Boys have now confirmed their desire to bring the player to Naturena.
"Kaizer Chiefs have notified Mamelodi Sundowns of their intentions to engage Katlego Mphela to become a future Kaizer Chiefs player," the club revealed through a statement on the club's official website.
Football manager Bobby Motaung added, "The player's contract at Mamelodi Sundowns expires in June 2014, therefore, we would like to make our intentions known."
Mphela is in the final six months of his contract, meaning that January marks a last chance for Sundowns to cash in on the player, otherwise he could sign a pre-contract an leave for free at the close of the season.
The player's representative, Glyn Binkin, previously told the Siya crew that he was expecting a decision to be made by the forward in the coming days, and it seems that Chiefs are hoping to persuade him to make the move to Naturena.
